Crusaders
We are very proud of our Crusaders Sunday School class. These young people
are so instrumental in our church that they deserve an area of their very
own on our web site. |

The Crusaders are our Third, Fourth and Fifth graders. Besides Sunday
School classes on Sunday, they have outings and service projects too. In
many ways, the Crusaders fall between our Youth and Children's areas,
encompassing those youngsters in what has become known as the "Tween" years.
Technically, our organizational chart lists The Crusaders under the heading
of Children's Ministry.
The Crusaders class is one of our largest Sunday School classes. Their
teachers' goal for the group is to function as a "mini-youth group",
providing the youngsters with Christian activities and friendships to
sustain their faith as they approach those difficult Middle School years.
Class leaders plan a service project and/or a group activity quarterly. In
2007, the Crusaders decorated for the annual Easter Egg hunt, hid the eggs
for the younger children, then had a "twilight egg hunt" of their own using
flashlights. They helped cook and serve one of the meals for our Family
Promise guests. The Crusaders went twice to a farm in Oliver Springs on a
treasure hunt and fishing expedition. An activity for 2006 was a trip to
visit the Corn Maze. And, incidentally, the Crusaders have one of the
coolest rooms in the Annex.
